Fairy doors in the garden | Ideal Home
Thank you for sharing such creative and inspired ideas! My children are now older so her visits are not so frequent but she is still mentioned from time to time and my daughter has the tiny notebook that Arianne used to write a birthday message in for her every year! She would make nightly visits using the toadstool as a portal!
Kate Aug 25, Nikki, the childhood you created for your daughter sounds so wonderful — I love the idea of the tiny notebook! This is wonderful, Kate.

Mindy Aug 17, Susan - saf affect Aug 18, Christy Aug 19, Thanks Christy! Claire Aug 24, Claire, they sound beautiful! The Door in the Woods Aug 15, By Kate in Homing Instinct , Uncategorized Tags: Borrowers , dolls house , fairies , garden , Kids , magic , miniatures , outdoor fun A couple of years ago, soon after we moved into our home, Harry and I began to hear strange skittering noises under the floorboards. But we always assumed that the Borrowers, or fairies, or Lego men — whoever they were — lived indoors… until yesterday, when we were kicking a ball around the garden and discovered the door in the tree; Lit by a small lamp and almost disguised amongst the foliage was this ornate front door, complete with welly boots and a rake, and a freshly swept porch.
Besides, half of the magic is never knowing where the evidence of the little people might pop up… Have a great weekend!
